News – O Checklist 5.1

Version 5.1 is a minor release which mainly adds demo of OFeed.

Demo of OFeed

It is now possible to try OFeed using a demo. Just a few steps are required to get started:

The demo configuration is identical to what is used for a real event. Everything you do in O Checklist is reflected in OFeed. Further instructions are available in the app.

Check of OFeed credentials

O Checklist now verifies that event id and password are valid before data is exchanged with OFeed. This prevents incorrect updates in some special cases.

O Checklist 5.0

Version 5 is a major release which adds several new features. Should any problems arise, the previous version can be downloaded from stigning.se.

Support of OFeed

O Checklist can now connect as a client to an OFeed server. OFeed is an open source cloud data hub which provides real time updates of competition data.

O Checklist initially downloads the start list. Then, all updates are instantly synchronised between the client and the server:

SPORTident station in Clear and Check modes

In addition to the already supported Readout mode, you can now connect an SI station configured in Clear or Check mode. Check mode provides a quick and easy way to admit runners to the first start box. One punch and he/she is ready to go.

Use SPORTident software Config+ (Windows) to configure the SPORTident station. Auto send must be enabled for Check and Clear modes, and disabled for Readout mode. Setting Legacy protocol must be disabled for all modes.

SPORTident SRR USB Dongle

You can now connect an SSR-stick (short range radio) to O Checklist, which for example can be used together with a BSF8-SRR-DB station. The SI station can then be mounted on a fixed stand, allowing the O Checklist phone/tablet to move around (somewhat) freely.

Proposed placement of SI stations

Place a Clear station somewhere in the warm-up area (either centrally or at the entrance) where each runner clears his/her card.

At the entrance to the first start box, use a station configured in Check mode connected to O Checklist. A single punch will now check the card and tick off the runner. Have an extra Clear station available for runners who have forgotten to clear their cards.

Teams

O Checklist now supports teams. Teams are imported from an IOF/XML start list, where the XML tag <TeamStart> now is parsed (previously ignored). Each team member is handled as an individual runner in O Checklist.

Warning if the internet connection is lost

A warning message is now shown if there is no connection to the internet. For OFeed, a GET "Hello World!" request is sent to the OFeed server every ten seconds to verify that it can be reached.

New translations

Over the past year, several new translations have been added to O Checklist, the latest being Slovak and Bulgarian. Thank you for supporting O Checklist!

Changes to the settings menu

Check that card is cleared – This option has been removed. Instead, use a SPORTident station configured in Check mode as described above.

Upload report – This section has been reorganised and is now called Server connection. Each protocol type has its own submenu.
