GNSS Viewer is a utility application that displays and logs Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) information as provided by the device’s built-in GNSS receiver.
The app can display position, altitude, speed, course, time, accuracy, and satellite data, and can optionally log this information as the user moves. The app is intended for general-purpose navigation and GNSS diagnostics and is not designed for children.
GNSS Viewer does not collect, request, store, transmit, or infer any personal information about the device user. It does not collect age, accounts, contact details, analytics data, advertising identifiers, or any personal identifiers. The app does not require creating or signing in to any user account.
GNSS Viewer reads GNSS data from the device’s GNSS hardware only when the user grants the required permissions. GNSS data may include:
This data is:
GNSS data is never transmitted by the app unless the user explicitly chooses to share it.
GNSS Viewer does not use GNSS information to determine the identity of the user and does not use GNSS information to create any user profile.
If the user enables track logging, GNSS Viewer stores logged points (latitude, longitude, altitude, timestamp, and optional accuracy) locally on the device. The user may optionally choose to export track logs (GPX or CSV format) using other apps such as e-mail, messaging, or file-sharing apps. All sharing actions are initiated explicitly by the user and occur through external apps selected by the user.
GNSS Viewer does not send data anywhere on its own. No logged tracks or waypoints are uploaded automatically or transmitted in the background.
GNSS Viewer uses OpenStreetMap tiles to display logged tracks and waypoints on a map. This requires an internet connection to download map tiles. Downloaded map tiles:
GNSS Viewer does not send GNSS data, personal data, or identifiers to OpenStreetMap.
GNSS Viewer contains no advertising, no in-app tracking, no third-party analytics SDKs, no behavioural profiling, and no cookies or similar tracking technologies. The app does not personalise content or features based on behaviour, identity, or demographics.
GNSS Viewer requests only the permissions necessary for its core functionality and does not upload any data to external servers. The app does not request any other sensitive permissions besides those listed below.
Required to access GNSS (GPS/Glonass/Galileo/Beidou/IRNSS) data. Used solely to read GNSS information and to display and optionally log the user’s position. GNSS Viewer does not use location data for identifying the user, tracking movement outside the app, or sending data to external services.
Used only to keep GNSS Viewer active during continuous GNSS logging or display, ensuring uninterrupted data updates while the app is running in the foreground.
Permissions for network communication are used exclusively to download map tiles from OpenStreetMap.
All GNSS data, logged tracks, and waypoints are stored only on the device. Nothing is uploaded or stored remotely unless the user manually shares exported data through other apps.
The user is fully responsible for managing any stored tracks or exported files (GPX/CSV) created with GNSS Viewer.
GNSS Viewer processes GNSS data only locally on the device. The app does not transmit GNSS data to any server.
When the user chooses to export a track or share position data, GNSS Viewer hands the file or information to the device’s chosen app (for example, e-mail or messaging). Transmission security and handling of exported files depend on the receiving app and service.
The user is responsible for sending exported data only to trusted recipients.
GNSS Viewer does not target children. It does not collect or infer age, does not provide age-dependent features, does not change behaviour based on age, and does not contain child-directed content.
This privacy policy may be updated as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected in this document.
